In selling our entry-level home in a high-demand town, we interviewed three agents:
(1) one agent was clearly used to selling higher-priced homes and had high expectations in preparing our home for sale;
(2) one agent hoped to maximize their commission at the expense of the buyer’s agent, while also reducing her agent costs;
(3) Jay agreed up front to split the commission equally with the buyer’s agent, and assumed the expense of a professional photographer, and brought in a stager from his office at no expense to us.
His background as an appraiser was helpful in approximating the value of our home. He and his stager advised on the preparation of our home for sale, recognizing the modest standard of our home. He is cooperative to work with, and responsive to any issues that we raised. He kept tabs on the progress of preparations, and guided us in the sale process. Overall, it was a good experience .
